NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Indiana University Kokomo women's soccer team's first away match of the year ended in a 2-2 draw. The Cougars led Holy Cross College (Ind.) twice in Wednesday evening's contest but settled for a draw.

Junior Skylar Mannon gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead less than ten minutes into the game, as she beat the goalie from the top right corner of the box. Mannon forced a Saint turnover near midfield and took it the rest of the way on her own for her fourth career goal and first of the season.

Holy Cross controlled play for a majority of the remainder of the half, eventually sneaking one past IUK goalie Erica Bolinger in the 36th minute. The Cougars and Saints went into halftime tied at one.

IU Kokomo came out of halftime with an edge that led to multiple scoring chances in the early minutes of the second half. Skylar Mannon sent a lead pass to Keely Hoopingarner, who showcased her blinding speed in beating the defender and neatly placing it in the back of the net. Hoopingarner's goal is her second this season.

IUK held a 2-1 lead until the 77th minute when Hannah Lemieux and Lauren Cernak combined on a goal for the Saints to knot the score at two with less than 13 minutes remaining. The Cougs had some chances in the final minutes but the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Senior goalie Erica Bolinger kept her squad in the game at times in Wednesday's matchup, finishing with nine saves. Mannon tallied two points on the night, scoring the Cougs first goal and assisting on Hoopingarner's goal.

The Cougars will be back in action this Saturday afternoon as they welcome IU South Bend to Kokomo Municipal Stadium for a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 1:00 P.M.
