KOKOMO, Ind. – Errors proved to be costly for the Indiana University Kokomo baseball team on Friday night as the Cougars fell to the 18th ranked IU Southeast Grenadiers. The Cougars committed seven errors on the night. 
 
IU Kokomo moves to 24-16 overall on the season and 14-4 in River States Conference action. 
 
Key Moments

• Both teams had runners in scoring position in each of their first two at-bats but neither team could plate a run, keeping the game scoreless through two innings. 
• The Grenadiers led off the third frame with back-to-back doubles to score the game's first run. A sacrifice fly later in the inning made it a 2-0 contest. 
• Thomas Obergfell doubled in the bottom half of the third and came around to score on a Jared Heard single to cut the Cougars deficit in half, 2-1. 
• A four-run inning by IU Southeast in the sixth made it 6-1 in favor of the Grenadiers. 
• Hurlock singled to lead off the Cougars half of the sixth and moved up 90 feet after Heard was hit by a pitch. With runners at second and third with one out, Jack Leverenz picked up an RBI, making it a 6-2 game. 
• The Cougars committed four errors in the eighth that resulted in one IU Southeast run. 
• IU Southeast added three more runs in the ninth to put the game out of reach, making it 10-3. 

Pitching

• Owen Callaghan threw 5.2 innings and allowed four runs on 10 hits, taking the loss in the series opener. 
• Connor Hurt tossed two innings in relief, allowing one run on not hits and striking out three batters. 
• Brandon Bultemeier gave up a hit in one inning of work.
