OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Indiana University Kokomo baseball team won both games of a doubleheader today to complete series sweep of River States Conference foe, Brescia University. The Cougars took the first game 7-3 before winning via the 10-run rule, 13-2 in the finale. 
 
The win improves the Cougars' record to 24-14 overall and 14-3 in conference play. 
 
Game One Key Moments
	- Thomas Obergfell reached from the leadoff spot on a Brescia error and was plated by a Pat Mills homerun to give the Cougars an early 2-0 lead. Jared Heard singled and moved to third on a Dylan Steele single. Heard scored on a sacrifice fly by Seth Denoyer to give IUK a 3-0 advantage.
- Heard drew a leadoff walk in the third and advanced to second after a single by Steele. A Riley Garczynski sacrifice bunt put Heard and Steele at second and third with one out. Denoyer picked up another RBI and Dylan Janke drove in a run with an RBI-double to make it a 5-0 contest. 
- The Bearcats scored a run each in the third, fourth, and fifth innings to make it 5-3.  
- Obergfell launched a ball over the fence for a solo shot, putting IUK ahead 6-3. 
- Mills hit his second homerun of the game in the ninth to add an insurance run for the Cougars.  
Game One Pitching
	- Ben Harris got the start for the Cougars and went just three innings before exiting the game. The righty allowed one run on four hits and struck out five. 
- Brandon Bultemeier threw two innings in relief, allowing just one run on two hits while striking out three batters. His efforts earned him his first win of the season
- Ethan Leslie was effective for three innings, earning him the save, his third of the season. 
Game Two Key Moments
	- After the game being scoreless for three innings, the Cougars plated two runs in the fourth inning as Jarod Gillespie and Luke Hanson each drove in runs during the inning. 
- The Cougars delivered a big blow in the sixth inning, plating eight runs. Sean Becker doubled to score Gillespie to make it 3-0. Mills recorded a two-RBI single and two batters later, Jack Leverenz blasted a two-run home run to make it 8-0. Luke Hanson put IUK ahead by 10 runs after a two-RBI single. 
- A two-run home run by Brescia made it 10-2 after six complete innings. 
- Matt Iacobucci drove in a pair of runs in the Cougars' half of the seventh, making it 12-2 and Leverenz drove in the final run of the game, an RBI-double that scored Iacobucci. 
Game Two Pitching
	- Lucas Letsinger earned the win, tossing six innings, allowing just two runs on four hits while striking out nine batters. 
- Ryan Beck closed things out, tossing one inning, allowing just one hit. 
Up Next
	- The Cougars will welcome River States Conference foe, IU Southeast next weekend to Kokomo Municipal Stadium. The Cougars and Grenadiers will begin a three-game series on Friday night starting at 6 p.m.
