KOKOMO, Ind. – The Indiana University Kokomo women's soccer team earned a draw against Lawrence Tech on Friday night at Kokomo Municipal Stadium. The draw brings the Cougars' record to 0-2-1 on the season. 
 
The Cougar attack was active early as IUK took seven shots in the first 14 minutes of action. 
 
Morgan Scruggs scored the first goal of the game and season for the Cougars in the 33rd minute as she took a pass from Evalin Hair and buried it in the back of the net to give IUK an early 1-0 advantage. 
 
The Blue Devils attack came out aggressive in the second half, outshooting the Cougars 11-2 and putting seven on goal. 
 
In the 64th minute, the Blue Devils found the equalizer, evening the game at one goal apiece. 
 
Neither team could find the game-winner in the final 25 minutes of action, forcing overtime at Kokomo Municipal Stadium. 
 
In the opening overtime period, neither team managed to create any shots but in the second extra frame, LTU outshot the Cougars, 3-1. Both defenses stayed strong in the final 10 minutes, forcing the match to end in a 1-1 draw. 
 
IUK starting keeper, Erica Bolinger saw 13 shots her way and made a season-high 12 saves. 
 
The Cougars will hit the road for the first time this season on Saturday, September 11 as they travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to take on Aquinas College.
