A 5-0 and a 6-0 run was the difference in the middle set as the Cougars cruised to a 25-12 victory. The 5-0 run came as the match was tied at seven. Three of the points came off of Bearcat mishaps and the other two were kills from
Sidney Gerig to cap off the run. In the 6-0 run, four of the points came from Brescia errors and the other two came via kills from Adam.
Audrey Strawsma ended the set with a kill to put IUK up 2-0.
Trailing 3-2 early, the Cougars used a 7-0 run to gain the lead back from the Bearcats. This time, Brescia answered with an 8-0 run of its own to regain the lead and force IU Kokomo head coach
Heather Hayes to use the first of her two timeouts. The Bearcats kept the set close but with the Cougars leading by one at 21-20, IUK rattled off four straight points, the final three coming off Brescia mistakes. The Cougars held on for their 15th sweep of the season and secured their 10th straight victory.
The Cougars will return to action this Friday as they host IU Southeast at 7 p.m. On Saturday IU Kokomo will host Midway as they look for revenge, as the Eagles gave the Cougars their only conference blemish of the season back on September 17.
