Brent Martin 2022

Brent Martin

The 2023-2024 school year will be Martin's 3rd season with the Cougars.  In the 22-23 season the team Martin took the team to new heights.  They won back-to-back team invitationals and finished a program best, 2nd at the 2023 River States Conference Championship.  The IUK Spring Invitational was the Cougars first team championship in five years and they won the 2023 Golden Bear Classic with a season low 596 in the 36-hole event.  He coached three golfers who earned all RSC honors and two players were individual medalists, Corbin Robison and Drew Wagner.

The Spring 2022 season was Martin's first with IUK, guiding them to a 3rd-place finish in the River States Conference Championship.  Two players, Harley Pugh and Jack Barnes were named RSC All Conference golfers.

Martin brings more than six years of college head coaching experience with him to Kokomo and is no stranger to the River States Conference, having spent the six seasons at Ohio Christian University as the Director of Golf and Program Manager for their Sport Business degree. Martin oversaw both the men's and women's programs for the Trailblazers where the team broke or set every 18, 36 and 54 hole school record in just two years. Before taking over the golf programs at Ohio Christian, Brent spent four years as the head men's and women's tennis coach for the Trailblazers.

Coach Martin played both golf and tennis collegiately at Cedarville University. He was a three-year letter winner for the Yellow Jackets on the links. Martin was part of a team that set the program record for lowest 18-hole and lowest 36-hole team score.  He earned three letters in tennis at Cedarville, garnering NCCAA All-American honors in 2008.  Martin graduated from Cedarville University in 2009 with a degree in Sport Management.  He received a Master's degree from Xavier University in 2011 in Sport Administration.

Brent and his wife Cassia reside in Westfield, Indiana with their daughter Mavalyn.
