OWENSBORO, Ky. - The IU Kokomo women's basketball team fell in their regular season finale on the road Saturday afternoon in Kentucky, but their 2025-2026 season is far from over. For the first time since 2019-2020, the Cougars will play in the postseason, having secured the #3 seed in the West Division and a spot in the RSC Championship Quarterfinals.

THE RUNDOWN
- IU Kokomo's offense struggled in a low-scoring game, opening with a 5-0 lead before being outscored 13-3 over the final 6:10 of the first quarter.
- The second quarter made all the difference Saturday afternoon, with the Bearcats outscoring the Cougars 20-4 to take a 33-12 lead into halftime.
- The second half told a different story, as IU Kokomo stayed competitive in the third quarter despite trailing by double digits, with Moriah Crawford and Anya Friend combining for 11 of the Cougars' 17 points.
- Building on a strong third quarter, second-year head coach Lisa Pflueger's team scored a game high 23 points in the fourth, outscoring the Bearcats by 12 yet still coming up short in a 63-52 loss to finish the regular season.
LEADING THE CHARGE
- Graduate student Anya Friend led IU Kokomo offensively with 15 points in 22 minutes off the bench, hitting three triples, shooting 6-of-11 from the field, and grabbing five rebounds.
- Graduating teammates Moriah Crawford and Mia Catey also reached double figures, with Crawford posting 11 points and six rebounds and Catey adding 10 points along with nine boards.
