OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - The IU Kokomo women's basketball team picked up its fifth win of the season Tuesday night, defeating Oakland City 71–61 on the road to improve to 1–2 in River States Conference play.

THE RUNDOWN
- IU Kokomo senior forward Moriah Crawford gave the Cougars an early 2–0 lead with a bucket just 11 seconds into the game, but Oakland City responded by scoring the next nine points to take a seven-point advantage. A Kelsi Langley bucket in the paint trimmed the deficit to two with 2:40 remaining in the quarter, as the Mighty Oaks carried a 15–11 lead into the second.
- After Oakland City extended its lead to six, IU Kokomo responded to tie the game and take its first lead of the second quarter, outscoring the Mighty Oaks 15–13 in the period. The Cougars trailed by two at halftime.
- Just as they did in the second quarter, the Mighty Oaks controlled play early in the third, extending their lead to six on multiple occasions. The Cougars stayed within striking distance and closed the quarter on a five-point run to take a 47–44 lead, holding Oakland City scoreless over the final 2:54 of the period.
- The Cougars carried their momentum into the fourth quarter after a strong finish to the third, extending the lead to double digits less than four minutes into the period. Oakland City threatened only once, pulling within four with 1:52 remaining, but IU Kokomo scored the final six points to secure a 71–61 road victory.
LEADING THE CHARGE
- Kelsi Langley led IU Kokomo offensively with 21 points and six rebounds on 10-of-20 shooting from the field in 23 minutes off the bench.
- Cameryn Rector enjoyed a career night, as the junior guard posted her first career double-double. She finished with 10 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists in a strong all-around effort.
- Mia Catey added 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
- Millie Scorsone chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds, while Moriah Crawford contributed 10 points and five boards.
