AKRON, Ohio./CHICAGO,Ill. - The IU Kokomo men's indoor track and field team competed in a split-squad weekend at the East Coast Throws Festival and the University of Chicago's Phoenix Invite, turning in strong performances at both meets, highlighted by Gabe Wedmore punching his ticket to the NAIA Indoor National Championships in the shot put.

THE RUNDOWN
- Gabe Wedmore led IU Kokomo over the weekend, winning the college shot put at the East Coast Throws Festival with a mark of 16.69 meters. The throw fell just two centimeters shy of the NAIA "A" standard, but still earned a "B" standard, set a new personal best, and ranks third nationally.
- Both Seth and Isaac Ireland followed Wedmore's lead with personal-best performances in the shot put, as Seth moved to fourth all-time in program history with a mark of 15.78 meters, while Isaac followed in fifth with a throw of 15.65 meters.
- JJ King won the long jump at University of Chicago with a personal best mark of 6.37 meters, moving to fourth all-time in program history.
- Trevon Hess, Rico Ortiz, Mason Davis, and James King each recorded personal bests in the 60-meter dash, with Ortiz also setting a PR in the 200 meters. Tanner Gibson finished fifth in the 60-meter finals, while Hess placed seventh.
