NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The IU Kokomo women's basketball team hit the road for their first true away game of the 2025–26 season Thursday night, coming up just short against Holy Cross College (Ind.) on Toys for Tots Night inside McKenna Arena.

THE RUNDOWN
- A slow start hurt IU Kokomo in the first quarter, where Holy Cross jumped out to a 23–13 edge and a 10-point lead after one.
- Holy Cross maintained at least a six-point cushion throughout the second quarter, but head coach Lisa Pflueger's IUK squad chipped away and entered halftime trailing 37–31.
- The third quarter turned into the Hannah Hodgen show, with the junior guard erupting for 10 points to pull the Cougars back into the game. She buried three threes in the first minute of the half, nine points in a flash, before a Mia Catey jumper lifted IU Kokomo to a 42–41 lead.
- The Saints answered the Cougars' push, restoring a six-point cushion and carrying a 60–55 lead into the final period.
- Holy Cross extended its lead to seven early in the fourth, but the Cougars continued to battle, trimming the margin to just one with 3:16 to play. The Saints answered again, restoring a six-point lead and holding on down the stretch to win 81–74.
LEADING THE CHARGE
- The IU Kokomo offense was as balanced as it has been all season Thursday night, with five Cougars scoring in double figures, led by Moriah Crawford's 18 points and six rebounds.
- Mackenzie York and Mia Catey followed Crawford's lead, with York adding 15 points and four rebounds while Catey contributed 14 points and five boards.
- Rounding out the balanced effort, Hannah Hodgen posted 13 points, six boards, and three assists, with Lexi DiOrio adding 10 points and five rebounds.
