Women’s Soccer Falls 3-0 to WVU Tech in RSC Semifinals, Capping Program’s Third 10-Win Season

KOKOMO, Ind. - The Indiana University Kokomo women's soccer team ended their third-ever 10-win season Saturday night, falling 3-0 to WVU Tech in the River States Conference Championship Semifinals in cold, blustery, and wet conditions.

THE RUNDOWN 
  • In a rematch of a 1-0 IU Kokomo win at Kokomo Municipal Stadium, decided by an own goal, WVU Tech controlled possession this time and outshot the Cougars 17-2 in shots on goal.
  • Despite what appeared would be a scoreless first half, an IU Kokomo foul in the box gave WVU Tech a penalty kick. The Golden Bears converted in the 43rd minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
  • WVU Tech struck again less than five minutes into the second half, as Korinne Potter scored her second goal of the night to make it 2-0.
  • The Golden Bears held IU Kokomo scoreless the rest of the way and added a final goal in the closing minute, sealing a 3-0 victory and advancing to the River States Conference Championship at Oakland City.

LEADING THE CHARGE
  • Senior goalkeeper Kailee Moore made 14 saves on the night, closing out her illustrious career as the best goalkeeper in the program's young history.
  • Jaidin Millsaps and Avery Wilson each registered a shot on goal in the loss.
