BECKLEY, WV. - The Indiana University Kokomo baseball team swept Saturday's doubleheader at WVU Tech, winning the games by scores of 7-5 and 7-2. With the win, the Cougars have clinched a second consecutive conference series win and have won eight straight games heading into Sunday's series finale.
Game 1 (9 innings): 7-5 Win
	- WVU Tech scored a single run in each of the first three innings to lead 3-0 after three.
- IU Kokomo would respond with single runs in each of the following three frames to knot the score at 3-3 through six innings.
- Kasey Ross hit a solo-shot in the fourth to get the Cougars on the board, Jack Leverenz doubled and scored on a Caden Whitehead sac-fly in the fifth, and Alex Janke singled and scored on a Thomas Obergfell single in the sixth.
- After a scoreless seventh, the first scoreless frame of the game, IU Kokomo erupted for four runs in the top of the eighth to take control of the game.
- Riley Garczynski led off the inning with a walk before Alex Janke followed with a double. After a Tucker Platt sac-fly scored Garczynski and advanced Janke, an E6 also allowed Janke to score. Kasey Ross doubled with nobody on, and his pinch runner Judah Hennessy scored on another Obergfell single. Dylan Steele singled and advanced on a Leverenz walk before scoring on a Dylan Janke single to make it 7-3 IU Kokomo.
- WVU Tech refused to go away quietly, scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth, but eventually were closed out by the Cougars for a 7-5 game one victory.
- Justin Bultemeier got the start and took home the no decision after a solid six inning outing. Bultemeier's final line: 6 IP, 9 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K.
- Luke McDonald was the first man out of the pen for the Cougars in the seventh, as he loaded the bases before managing to escape the jam. McDonald earned the win (2-0) thanks to the four-run outburst from the Cougars in the top of the eighth. McDonald's final line: 1 IP, H, 2 BB, K.
- Nathan Stanley closed out the win for the Cougars, entering the game in the eighth and pitching both the eighth and ninth. Stanley's final line: 2 IP, 4 H, 2 ER.
Game 2 (7 innings): 7-2 Win
	- IU Kokomo struck first with four runs in the top of the first. Tucker Platt hit a solo-shot to make it 1-0 with two outs before a pair of men reached in front of Jarod Gillespie, who came through with a three-run bomb to make it 4-0.
- The Cougars added a run in the third as Alex Janke singled and stole second before scoring from 180 feet on a wild pitch to make it a 5-0 IUK lead.
- The Golden Bears scored single runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to trail 5-2 through five innings.
- Platt doubled to left in the seventh and would score after a Tahj Borom single led to an error and a run scored by Platt. Borom would steal third and score on an E2 for a second insurance run that made it 7-2 IUK.
- Logan Greer got the start on the mound and earned the win to improve to 2-2 on the year. Greer's final line: 4.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 6 BB, 5 K.
- Brandon Bultemeier entered in relief of Greer with the bases full in the fifth, striking out a man to escape a jam. Bultemeier's final line: 1.1 IP, H, 2 K.
- Victor Fujiu closed out the win for the Cougars, tossing a scoreless seventh. Fujiu's final line: 1 IP, BB, K
The Cougars will go for a second-straight sweep Sunday with a 12:00 PM first pitch at WVU Tech.
