GREENTOWN, Ind. - The IU Kokomo women's tennis team welcomed Saint Francis (Ind.) to the Howard County Indoor Tennis Center Wednesday night for the second match of the spring. The Cougars of IUK were dominant, cruising to a 6-1 win over the Cougars of USF.

1. Oliveira (IUK) def. Reidy (USF) 6-2, 6-2
2. Korte (USF) def. O'Rourke (IUK) 6-1, 6-1
3. Hiser (IUK) def. Rodenbeck (USF) 6-0, 6-1
4. Schmidt (IUK) def. Ciocca (USF) 7-6(3), 2-6, 1-0
5. Perrin (IUK) def. Klinger (USF) 6-1, 6-4
6. Farkas (IUK) def. Dellinger (USF) 6-1, 7-6(4)

Despite all three doubles matches being tightly-contested, IU Kokomo came out victorious in all three for a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

Maria Oliveira and Reiley Hiser earned dominant wins at #1 and #3 singles respectively, while USF won their lone point of the match at #2 singles. 

A pair of freshmen in Kennedy Perrin and Molly Farkas both won in straight-sets, while Chloe Schmidt outlasted her opponent for a three-set victory at #4 singeles, handing IU Kokomo a 6-1 victory.

Head coach Kristine Miller was happy with her team's performance in the win, acknowledging it was a tough match with some players out but she was proud of them for the way they fought.

IU Kokomo will next be in action Friday, March 1st, as they will take on Saint Mary's College at 7:00 PM in Pendleton, Indiana.
