OWENSBORO, Ky. - The IU Kokomo women's soccer team suffered a shut-out loss at the hands of the Brescia Bearcats Thursday evening, dropping the Cougars to seventh in the River States Conference standings with three matches to play.

With the top six teams in the regular season standings advancing to the RSC Championship, IU Kokomo is now on the outside looking in with three matches left to play in the regular season.

The Cougars are back in action Saturday at Oakland City for a 2:00 PM ET kickoff. The Mighty Oaks currently sit atop the River States Conference standings with a record of 6-0.

Brescia tested IUK goalkeeper Kailee Moore in the opening minutes, putting shots on frame in the first and and third minute. Kelsi Hoot came close to opening the scoring in IUK's favor in the 5th minute, sending a shot off the crossbar.

The Cougars had three shots on goal in the remainder of the first half, however the score was still knotted at zero through 45 minutes.

Bearcat Olivia Poon struck first in the 54th minute, giving Brescia a lead they would not relinquish. IU Kokomo struggled to maintain possession, and the Bearcats would add an insurance goal in the 68th minute.

IU Kokomo registered just one shot on target in the final 20 minutes, falling 2-0 on the road Thursday.
