MIDWAY, Ky. - The IU Kokomo women's tennis team closed out their Spring Break trip this past Wednesday with a 4-3 loss at River States Conference foe Midway.

DOUBLES
1. Olivero/Guillen (MU) def. Gabbie Orlando/Larissa O'Rourke (IUK) 6-2
2. Andrea Saylor/Reiley Hiser (IUK) def. McKinney/Larreal (MU) 6-2
3. Maria Oliveira/Chloe Schmidt (IUK) def. Froedge/McClenahan (MU) 6-2

SINGLES
1. Olivero (MU) def. Gabbie Orlando (IUK) 6-1, 7-6
2. Guillen (MU) def. Maria Oliveira (IUK) 6-0, 6-3
3. Larreal (MU) def. Larissa O'Rourke (IUK) 6-1, 6-2
4. Reiley Hiser (IUK) def. McKinney (MU) 6-0, 6-3
5. Andrea Saylor (IUK) def. McClenahan (MU) 6-0, 6-1
6. Froedge (MU) def. Lillianne Fishero (IUK) 6-4, 6-4

The Cougars started the match strong winning the doubles point after taking the win at #2 and #3 doubles. The #2 doubles duo of Saylor/Hiser and the #3 pairing of Oliveira/Schmidt each won 6-2 to give IU Kokomo a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

Midway won each of the top three singles points, pulling within one point of the win with a 3-1 lead. Reiley Hiser and Andrea Saylor each won handily at #4 & #5 singles to tie the match at 3, but Midway would win two tight-sets at #6 singles to win the match 4-1.

IU Kokomo will be back in action Saturday, as they will head north to Notre Dame, Indiana to take on Saint Mary's College.
