KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo Baseball team completed back to back routs of the visiting Alice Lloyd Eagles on Saturday, winning by scores of 17-5 and 11-0. The Cougars rise to 14-9 on the season and 6-2 in conference games.

Game One Offensively

• Jarod Gillespie hit an RBI single in the 1st inning (Riley Garczynski scored).
• Three runs came in the 2nd inning. Gavin Smith scored on an infield error, followed by Dylan Steele scoring as Riley Garczynski grounded out. Tucker Platt then hit an RBI single (Nolan Bowser scored).
• Dylan Steele hit a two run homer in the 3rd inning (Gavin Smith scored).
• The Cougars scored three runs in the 4th inning. Jarod Gillespie singled (Nolan Bowser scored), Jack Leverenz grounded out (Jarod Gillespie scored), and Luke Barnes hit a sacrifice fly as Tucker Platt scored.
• In a massive 5th inning, IUK drove in eight runs. Thomas Obergfell scored on Nolan Bowser's RBI double, followed by Riley Garczynski scoring on a wild pitch. Nolan Bowser then scored on Jarod Gillespie's RBI single, who in turn scored on a triple from Tucker Platt. Jack Leverenz then hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Tucker Platt. Thomas Obergfell hit an RBI single (Luke Barnes scored), followed by a pitching error resulting in two runs scored (Thomas Obergfell and Gavin Smith).
• Alice Lloyd scored one run in the 5th, another in the 6th, and three in the 7th.

Game One Pitching

• Lucas Letsinger started for the Cougars, pitching six innings. Letsinger recorded 2 hits, 2 runs (neither earned), 1 walk and 9 strikeouts.
• Mark Goudy came in to pitch the 7th inning, giving up 1 hit and 2 earned runs. Goudy struck out 1 batter and walked 3.

Game Two Offensively

• Four runs came for the Cougars in the 1st inning of game 2. Nolan Bowser hit an RBI single (Riley Garczynski scored), then Jarod Gillespie hit an RBI single (Garrett Lupoi scored). Jarod Gillespie scored on an RBI triple from Tucker Platt, who then scored on Luke Barnes's RBI triple.
• The Cougars scored another five runs in the 3rd inning to go ahead 9-0. Tucker Platt scored on a fielding error. Thomas Obergfell doubled (Will Richter scored) and then reached 3rd base on a fielding error and scored on a wild pitch. Nolan Bowser then hit a 2 RBI single (Gavin Smith and Caden Whitehead scored).
• In the 5th inning, Gavin Smith scored on a fielding error from Alice Lloyd.
• Hayden Davis hit an RBI single in the 6th inning (Landon Riekhof scored).

Game Two Pitching

• Mason Whiteley pitched the entirety of game 2 for IUK. Whiteley struck out 8 batters while only giving up 2 hits and 1 walk.

The Cougars finish their three game series with Alice Lloyd on Friday at 12:00 P.M.
