OWENSBORO, Ky. - The IU Kokomo women's tennis team started their 2023 spring break trip on a good note, winning at Brescia 7-0.

2. Andrea Saylor/Reiley Hiser(IUK) def. Ray/Estes (BU) 6-0

SINGLES
1. Gabbie Orlando (IUK) def. Dunnaway (BU) 6-1, 3-1 (DNF)
2. Maria Oliveira (IUK) def. Piatt (BU) 6-0, 4-1 (DNF)
3. Reiley Hiser (IUK) def. Ward (BU) 6-0, 6-0
4. Andrea Saylor (IUK) def. Kobak (BU) 6-1, 5-1 (DNF)
5. Lillianne Fishero (IUK) def. Brescia by default
6. Chloe Schmidt (IUK) def. Brescia by default

The Cougars won in dominant fashion Friday afternoon, dropping zero games in doubles play and just five total. Brescia was short two athletes, and therefore IU Kokomo won #3 doubles as well as #5 & #6 singles by default.

Gabbie Orlando and Larissa O'Rourke teamed up at one doubles and were ahead 4-0 before Brescia was unable to finish the match. Andrea Saylor and Reiley Hiser bageled their opponents, winning 6-0.

Entering singles play one point from winning the match, Reiley Hiser double-bageled her opponent 6-0, 6-0 to clinch the match win. Orlando, Maria Oliveira, and Saylor each won handily as the Cougars finished out a 7-0 win.

The Cougars will return to action Monday at Cumberland University (Tenn.). First serve is set for 12:00 PM ET.
