Men's Indoor Track & Field

Men's Indoor Track Wins Anderson Invite, Women's Indoor Track Finishes Second

ANDERSON, Ind. - The IU Kokomo men's and women's indoor track teams performed well Saturday at the Anderson Invite, as the men's team finished first and the women's team finished second behind Manchester University by just three points.

Women's Recap

Senior Casey Pfefferkorn broke two school records Saturday in the mile and 800m. Pfefferkorn won the mile with a time of 5:25.13 and finished second in the 800m with a time of 2:26.65. Lanie Pocock broke her own school record in the 3k racewalk, winning the race with a time of 17:37.04.

Joy McDivitt won both the 600m and the 1000m while Kailyn Devault won the 200m with a time of 28.56 and finished second in the 60m dash. 

Isabelle Altic won the 3k and Taylor Roesler won the pole vault. Leslie Sprankles and Rachel Eby both had two top-five finishes and Alexis Sheets, Erica White, Ella Kantz, April Chrisman, Madison Dotlich, Elizabeth Smith, and Olivia Newcom each earned one top-five finish.

The Cougars broke three school records, collected 20 top-five finishes, and had 12 personal bests.

Men's Recap

Sophomore Drew Caldwell broke the school record in the pole vault with a mark of 3.85m. Nick Anders broke the men's school record in the 3k racewalk with a time of 17:46.53.

Gabe Wedmore continued his strong start to his collegiate career, breaking the school record in the weight throw with a mark of 14.06 meters. The 4x400 relay team of Nolan Talley, Clay Brubaker, Isaiah Belcher, and Julian Wallace set a new school record with a time of 3:31.38.

Jake Cooper and Drew Caldwell each collected three top-five finishes on the day, while Julian Wallace, Jordan Henderson, Caleb Vogl, Bryce Stateler each earned two individual top-five finishes.

Collectively, the men's team broke four school records, earned 27 top-five finishes, and had 22 personal bests.

The Cougars will return to action next Friday and Saturday for a two-day meet at Grand Valley State.
