NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Kokomo men's basketball team fell 74-65 Saturday afternoon at IU Southeast, dropping to 8-2 overall and 0-2 in River States Conference play.
IU Southeast scored the first five points of the game, as the Grenadiers were a step-ahead of the Cougars early on. IU Kokomo trailed 16-10 before an 8-0 run gave them their first lead of the game at 18-16.
A Dell Demeyers bucket in the paint tied the game at 28 with 1:15 to play in the first half, but a Grenadier triple gave them a 31-28 halftime lead.
The two teams traded buckets in the early-going of the second half, until IU Southeast managed to extend their lead to double-digits near the 10-minute-mark.Â
The Grenadier lead got as big as 18 at 70-52 with 6:02 remaining, as IU Southeast handed IU Kokomo a 74-65 loss, the Cougars second-straight.Â
Ty Wills led IU Kokomo with 16 points while junior
Noah Harris recorded 12.
Joseph Annan Jr. had 10 points and eight rebounds in 25 minutes of action, as
Hunter Jackson went 3-6 for deep for nine points.Â
The Cougars will return to their home court next Thursday, as they will welcome RSC foe Midway University. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
