ANGOLA, Ind. - The IU Kokomo women's tennis team earned their first win of the fall season Tuesday afternoon, beating NCAA Division III opponent Trine University 7-2. The Cougs are now 1-3 on the season heading into a match with Goshen College Friday at home.
The match was played using Divison III scoring in which each doubles match counts for a point, thus the 7-2 final score.

IU Kokomo got off to a strong start Tuesday afternoon, dropping a total of six games in the doubles matches as they cruised to a 3-0 lead.
Reese Johnson double-bageled her opponent to make it a 4-0 lead and teammates
Gabbie Orlando and
Maria Oliveira each gave up just three games to clinch the match win for the Cougs.
Reiley Hiser won a third-set super-tiebreaker 10-8 to add a win at #2 singles for IU Kokomo.
Trine's two points in the match came at #3 and #4 singles, including a close three-set loss for
Andrea Saylor at #3 singles.
The Cougars will take on Goshen (Ind.) Friday afternoon at 4:00 P.M.
