KOKOMO, Ind. – The Indiana University Kokomo volleyball team will return to play this weekend with four matches at the Liz Hossler Labor Day Classic hosted by Bethel University (Ind.). The Cougars, who are 3-1 so far this season, will play a pair of matches both Friday and Saturday afternoon.

IU Kokomo vs Cumberland University (Tenn.) • 3:00 P.M. 

The Cougars enter play this weekend with a record of 3-1 after an impressive opening weekend. IU Kokomo avenged last year's loss to St. Thomas (Fla.) with a 3-1 win to open the season last Friday, before following that up with a straight-set sweep of Clarke University. IUK's lone loss came in five sets to nationally ranked Taylor University. The Cougs finished their opening weekend strong with another sweep, this time taking down Concordia University (Mich.).

Campbellsville University (Ky.) comes into this weekend having played just one match, as they beat IU Southeast in straight sets. The Cougars and Tigers have played once before, but that match came back in 2015 and saw IUK sweep 3-0.

The Pilots of Bethel University, who received 38 votes in the 2022 NAIA Women's Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll, are set to host the Liz Hossler Labor Day Classic after finishing opening weekend with a record of 3-1. Bethel's lone loss came against Madonna University (Mich.). The Cougars and Pilots met for the first time last season, with the Pilots taking the straight-sets win.

Grace College (Ind.) enters Bethel's Labor Day Classic with a record of 4-3. The Lancers opened the season at the USF Invite, and finished with a 3-1 record. Grace dropped two of their three matches in this past weekend's Lourdes Classic. IU Kokomo leads the all-time series with Grace College, 3-0, with the last match coming in 2019.

Cumberland University (Tenn.) comes into this weekend of play with a record of 3-1, after playing in the Chick-Fil-A Classic in West Palm Beach, Florida this past weekend. The Phoenix's lone loss came to Hastings College, but they did take down Doane University, who received three votes in the NAIA Preseason Coaches' Poll.
