INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana University Kokomo women's tennis team fell to the Cedarville University Yellow Jackets 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the Indy Racquet Club. The Cougars are now 5-7 overall and 2-1 in spring season play.
The No. 2 doubles pair of
Andrea Saylor and
Reiley Hiser were able to grind out a 6-4 win for the Cougars, but Cedarville had already won No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches to take the doubles point.
No. 1 and 2 singles were the first singles matches completed on the afternoon, with both going the way of the Yellow Jackets.
Next to finish would be the No. 3 singles match in which
Reiley Hiser of IU Kokomo was able to control throughout for a 6-1, 6-3 straight set victory. Hiser's victory turned out to be the Cougars lone point of the afternoon.
Andrea Saylor battled throughout her match at No. 4 singles but lost in two tight sets. Cedarville took the final two singles points to take home a 6-1 victory over IU Kokomo.
The Cougars will return to action Friday, March 4, as they travel to Kentucky to take on Midway University in a River States Conference clash. First serve is set for 11:30 a.m.
