RIO GRANDE, Ohio. - The IU Kokomo men's basketball team returned to the win column Saturday afternoon with a dominant 96-39 win over Carolina University. The Cougars are now 4-1 through five games on the season.

IU Kokomo scored the first 15-points of Saturday afternoon's contest for a commanding early lead. It was not until the 11:44 mark of the first half that the Bruins were able to score their first basket. 

A Ty Wills jumper with 48 seconds remaining in the first half gave IU Kokomo a 30-point, 40-10 lead. The Cougars would take a 43-12 lead into the halftime break thanks to a triple from Hunter Jackson with five seconds to go in the first half.

Carolina University scored six-straight points out of halftime to cut the IU Kokomo lead to 25, but the Cougars were never in any real danger of losing the lead. A Julien Hunter bucket in the paint gave IUK another 30-point lead at 51-21 with 13:23 remaining in the game.

IU Kokomo cruised to an eventual 57-point, 96-39 win over the Bruins of Carolina University. 

13 different Cougars scored on the afternoon, and the Cougars had 58 points in the paint and 62 bench points.

Julien Hunter led the Cougars in scoring with 14 points. Ty Wills had 13 points while Darian Porch added 11 points and nine rebounds.

The Cougars will return to the hardwood Tuesday, November 15, as they return home to begin RSC play against IU East. Tip-off is set for 7:30 P.M.
