Volleyball Sweeps Ohio Christian to Improve to 25-6 Overall

Box Score CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio. - The IU Kokomo volleyball team swept Ohio Christian on their home floor Saturday afternoon, bouncing back from Friday night's loss. The Cougars are now 25-6 overall and 14-2 in River States Conference play. 

IU Kokomo trailed 4-3 early in the first set before winning four consecutive points to take a 7-4 lead. Leading 15-14, the Cougars ended the set on a 10-1 run to win it 25-15.

The Cougars won the first point of the second set, but Ohio Christian evened the score and led up until the midway point of the set. Trailing 12-9, the Cougars went on a 5-0 run to take a 14-12 lead. IU Kokomo went on to win the second set 25-17 to take a two set lead.

The third set was close at the beginning as the Cougars led 14-11 over halfway through the set. IU Kokomo closed out the set on an 11-2 run to win the set 25-13 and the match 3-0 over Ohio Christian.

Three Cougars tallied double-digit kills on the afternoon, as Meg Saalfrank lead the way with a career high 12 kills. Fellow freshman Lexi Broyles had 11 and Sidney Gerig contributed ten kills.

The Cougars will be back-in-action Friday, November 4th, as they welcome Alice Lloyd to the Student Activities and Events Center for the first of two home matches on the weekend to close out the regular season. First-serve is set for 7:00 P.M.
