GOSHEN, Ind. – The Indiana University Kokomo women's tennis team picked up its first victory of the fall on Wednesday night as the Cougars took down Goshen College.
IUK earned the doubles point, winning all three hard-fought matches. All three went to at least 10 games (6-4) with two of the three going to a tiebreaker at 7-5.
In singles action, the Maple Leafs closed the 3-0 gap with a victory at No. 1 singles. A win at No. 2 singles for Goshen was too little too late as Reiley Heiser finished a second-set tiebreak at no. 4 singles to wrap up the third singles point and the fourth point overall for the Cougars, clinching the first win of the fall for IUK.
The Cougars will return to action on Friday as they participate in the River States Conference Invite hosted by IU Southeast.
