Preview: Volleyball Primed for Seventh Straight NAIA Championship Appearance

KOKOMO, Ind. – The Indiana University Kokomo volleyball team is set to make their seventh consecutive NAIA Volleyball Championship appearance this Saturday, November 20. Monday's tournament selection show revealed the Cougars will travel to Orange City, Iowa to take on the Northwestern College Raiders in the opening round of the NAIA Championship.

Northwestern College, who came in at No. 21 in the final Top 25 coaches' poll of the year, received at an at-large bid for their 17th NAIA Championship appearance. The Raiders posted an overall record of 17-10.

IU Kokomo enters NAIA Championship play with a record of 28-8. The Cougars clinched their berth by winning the regular season River States Conference title with a record of 16-1. The Cougars went on to claim their fourth straight RSC Volleyball Championship. IU Kokomo is making their seventh consecutive NAIA Championship appearance, and eighth overall.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the Cougars and the Raiders. 

The Cougars are one of five Indiana teams to make the field, the largest number of qualifiers for one state in this year's Championship.

Saturday's opening round match will take place inside the Bultman Center on the campus of Northwestern College. First serve is set for 5:30 p.m. (ET).
