KOKOMO, Ind. - It has been 14 days since the Indiana University Kokomo volleyball team has lost a set. The Cougars have won five straight matches, all of them coming via a 3-0 sweep. On Saturday afternoon, the Cougars made quick work of Ohio Valley University, defeating the Fighting Scots in 50 minutes, allowing just 21 points across three sets. 

The Cougars hit a whopping .486 in the match with 39 kills and just three errors in 74 total attempts. The .486 hitting percentage is a season-high for the Cougars, besting their .453 clip in a 3-0 win against Brescia on September 14.

IU Kokomo won the coin toss and elected to serve first against the Fighting Scots. Lorelei Porter was first up for the Cougars, recording two service aces to start the match. Porter would go on to serve seven more points, giving IU Kokomo a 9-0 lead. On Porter's 10th serve, Ohio Valley managed to get one of their two kills in the set but Porter recorded a kill to quickly give the Cougars a sideout. An IU Kokomo mishap gave the Fighting Scots their second point of the set, making it 10-2. A kill by Morgan Weir gave the Cougars the serve back and Kendal Williams served 13 straight points, extending the Cougar lead to 24-2. An Ohio Valley kill made it 24-3 and Weir recorded a kill to end the set with the Cougars winning 25-3. Three points is the lowest point total by an opposing team in program history. 

The second and third sets was much of the same IU Kokomo domination from start-to-finish. The Cougars held the Fighting Scots to just nine points in both sets. 

IU Kokomo will put its five-match winning streak on the line on Tuesday as they host Saint Mary of the Woods College inside the Student Activities and Events Center. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
