KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo Esports teams in Marvel Rivals and Super Smash Bros Ultimate both dominated their Tuesday night matchups, with Marvel Rivals shutting out Bradley and Super Smash Bros delivering a clean sweep against Michigan.
Marvel Rivals: 3-0 Win vs Bradley University
THE RUNDOWN
- The Cougars refused to let Bradley University score a single point or round, dominating en route to a commanding 3-0 victory. IU Kokomo secured the sweep by winning game one 1-0, game two 3-0, and game three 1-0 in the best-of-five series.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate: 2-0 Win vs University of Michigan
THE RUNDOWN
- After Cody Kretz [ROO] staged a strong comeback to eliminate the first two opponents, Brayden Karnes [Shiruk] delivered a clutch finish to secure a 1-0 game one win for the Cougars.
- Kretz [ROO] cleaned up the scraps in game two after Zane Fritz [Ghost™] and Karnes [Shiruk] put him in a favorable position, as IU Kokomo took game two 2-0 to win the best of three series 2-0.
LEADING THE CHARGE
- Karnes [Shiruk] led IU Kokomo with nine knockouts, closely followed by Kretz [ROO] with eight. Cody Kretz [ROO] sealed the deal in game two after Zane Fritz [Ghost™] and Brayden Karnes [Shiruk] set him up with a strong advantage, as IU Kokomo claimed a 2-0 victory to sweep the best-of-three series. Fritz [Ghost™] contributed six knockouts, rounding out the top performers for the Cougars Tuesday night.
